Everything You Need To Know About ‘Baby Botox®’

Botox® is a common term used to describe injections of Botulinum Toxin A, also known as anti-wrinkle Injections. It can be used to help prevent and reduce the formation of lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movements.

This treatment is becoming more and more popular, especially with younger people. I myself am nearing the age of 30 and routinely have the treatment (to the shock/horror of some people I speak to about it). There is definitely a stereotype/misconception about the treatment for lots of people and people routinely comment on their view that it makes you look ‘frozen’ or ‘scary’ or that people of my age ‘don’t need it’. This last point is true, no one needs to have the treatment but there are definitely a lot of benefits to it!

If you feel a bit daunted about the prospect of having Botox®,  or are concerned that you won’t like how it looks or feels then ‘Baby Botox®’ is the perfect way to ease yourself in.

The great thing about any Botox® treatments is that you can have a chat with your practitioner, they will assess your face and muscle movements and can personalise the treatments to you.

Baby Botox® involves administering a smaller dose so that you still retain some movement. This means that you will have a more natural and subtle outcome, people around you may comment that you look good or ‘fresher’ but they will have no idea why!

Another benefit of this treatment is that as a lower dose is being used it reduces the likelihood of any potential side effects, however, you made need to have top-ups more frequently.

The areas which are most commonly treated are; crows feet (crinkle lines at the corner of the eyes), frown lines and forehead lines – these especially are very important for expression in some individuals so keeping some movement here can be beneficial.

Another great thing about this treatment is that you can schedule a review appointment with your injector after 2 weeks (Botox® takes up to 2 weeks for the full effect) so that they can make some tweaks if necessary or even add some more Botox® if you decide this is what you would like. Baby Botox® is perfect for a more relaxed look for a special occasion or the long term prevention of wrinkle formation in younger patients.
