Why Are There So Many Names For Botox®?

We know it can get confusing with all the terms and words out there. Is it Botox®? Is it anti-wrinkle treatments? Is it a cosmetic injectables?

Hopefully the below clears up your confusion, so you know exactly what they mean giving you confidence to make the right decision.

Facial Aesthetics

Facial aesthetics is the umbrella term for facial rejuvenation treatments. It can also be known as a non- surgical treatment which reduces the sign of aging on the face. There is a choice of treatments which can create a natural and more youthful appearance.

Cosmetic Injectables

Is another term for facial aesthetics but they can refer to either Botox® or Dermal Fillers.

Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures

These fall under a number of cosmetic enhancing procedures that do not involve any incisions, surgery or general anaesthetics. Typically, these procedures are provided to those customers who do not wish to consider surgery as an option or those who don’t qualify for surgical intervention due to medical reasons.

These can include:

  • Botox® – which is the most often used to reduce lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscle in order to prevent them from deepening. The procedure is extremely effective, so much so that it can be used to carry out what’s known as a non-surgical eye lift – a treatment that gives the eyes the appearance of being lifted without surgical intervention.
  • Dermal filler – which, contrary to popular belief, aren’t just effective for lip-plumping. These injectables have a wide range of uses and are a big part of both non-surgical facelifts and non-surgical nose jobs. That’s right – non-surgical rhinoplasty can be carried out with dermal fillers. The popularity of this treatment is down to the fact that many people are put off by the permanence and complications of the surgical procedure. The fillers are injected in precise locations under the skin of the nose to change its contours – effectively reshaping it.
  • Laser Hair Removal
  • Microdermabrasion / Chemical Peels

Facial Tweakments

All those non-surgical cosmetic procedures that you have heard of – such as Botox®, dermal fillers, laser treatment and skin peels – are commonly known as tweakments.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Specifically refer to treatments for Botox®.

Wrinkle-Reducing Injections

This is an alternative term used for Botox® injections.
