5 on 5 with Dr Nikita Desai
1) Are you a doctor or dentist and why did you follow this path?
I am a qualified Dentist who has been practising for several years now. I chose Dentistry as I wanted a career where I could make a difference to patients whilst building long-standing relationships with them. Some of my patients have been with me for many years, I look forward to seeing them and catching up with them since their last visit.
2) Why did you get into facial aesthetics?
I chose to add facial aesthetics into my practice fairly soon after graduating as I have always been interested in facial patterns and cosmetic treatments. When I practice Dentistry there is a heavy influence of aesthetics and cosmetics so adding facial aesthetics into the mix works well to complement it.
3) What do you specialise in?
I spend the majority of my aesthetic practice doing anti-wrinkle treatments. In particular, I love delivering treatments of the upper face as I believe these have the biggest impact when trying to gain a more youthful appearance. The eyes are often the focus of the face, so softening lines and refreshing areas of the upper face give a great result.
4) When you’re not doing facial aesthetic, what are you doing?
When I’m not delivering aesthetics treatments, I am generally working in a dental practice or gaining further qualifications in my areas of interest. It’s a very exciting time for the facial aesthetic industry at the moment, there is a huge demand for these treatments and well as new advances in the treatments becoming available. I believe that this type of service will always require on-going training to make sure we are delivering the best possible results for our patients.
5) What is your favourite TV show at the moment?
I love all things reality TV; I like easy watches that are light-hearted. At the moment, I am binge-watching selling sunset every evening! Gorgeous houses alongside beautiful people, the perfect way to un-wind after work.
