5 on 5 with Dr Pujaa Patel

Here’s the Chief Medical Officer of UNNDOO, answering her 5 on 5 questions.

1) Are you a doctor or dentist? Why did you follow this path?

I work as a dentist across 2 practices in South East London. I always wanted to do something medicine-related and liked that with dentistry, you are part of the patient journey from start to finish. Whilst, in some other medical fields, you often see the patient at the start but then don’t actually see the final result. After completing my work experience, I knew it was something that I wanted to do!

2) Why did you get into facial aesthetics?

My interest for facial aesthetics started when I was working in hospital as part of the Oral and Maxillofacial Team. I developed a meticulous eye through treating patients with facial injuries as a result of trauma. This together with my passion for intricacy and perfection are skills that I use when treating my patients ensuring they achieve a natural result.

3) What would you say to someone thinking about getting Botox® for the first time?

  • It’s completely normal to be nervous.
  • Always start small, if you need more you can always add!

4) How do you think Botox® helps people?

You know that amazing feeling once you get a facial done? That’s how Botox® feels once it’s kicked in and the feeling definitely lasts longer than the fresh facial feel!

5) Where would you like to see the industry go?

As a medical professional, you are aware of the horror stories that happen when untrained practitioners inject customers. A positive step for the industry would be to tighten up on regulations to only allow certain medical professionals to be able to deliver treatments to reduce the amount of ‘botched’ procedures.
