7 Tips After You Have Botox®
So, you bit the bullet and just had your first Botox® treatment. Now what?
No doubt you are excited to see the results and welcome your new youthful face! But hold your horses, here are a few tips on what to expect and handy tips on what not to do once you have had the treatment.
- Directly after treatment, you should stay upright for 4 hours, to allow the substance to settle in the areas you want it to.
- Avoid touching, rubbing and applying make-up to the treated areas for 4 hours.
- Avoid extreme heat for up to 1-week post-treatment such as saunas and steam rooms.
- Avoid alcohol and heavy exercise for 24 hours.
- Stay out of sunlight/UV radiation until redness and swelling have resolved.
- You may find it helpful to apply iced gauze to the treated area, especially if you have developed some swelling/bruising.
- Avoid wearing anything tight around your head such as a headband as this can be quite constrictive.
Remember, Botox® can start working from 3-4 days, but will take 10-14 days to reach full effect.
